Peace Music Festival 2025
Peace Music Festival Saturday, September 6, 2025 | 1–4 PM Founder’s Grove, nestled under the oaks
Behind Lafayette Christian Church, 584 Glenside Drive, Lafayette
The community is invited to enjoy a peaceful afternoon under the majestic oaks of Founder’s Grove in Lafayette. Bring your lawn chair, picnic, and peaceful, easy feeling, and enjoy heartfelt performances by approximately 30 talented local musicians, as they bring the nostalgic melodies of folk guitar and songs of peace vividly back to life.
Presented by the Lafayette nonprofit Front Porch Music, the Peace Music Festival is inspired by the peace songs that rose to prominence during the Vietnam War era fifty years ago—music that continues to inspire and unite people today. In addition to the music, enjoy peace popcorn, a nostalgic photo booth, jewelry and art, and ideas for ways to encourage peace.
This free, non-denominational gathering is presented by Front Porch Music, with support from the Peaceful World Foundation, whose founder and peace pioneer, Sami Sunchild (now deceased), once asked, “What are you doing for peace in the world?” On September 6th, from 1–4 PM, people will gather in song as their answer, including an original song dedicated to this peace pioneer, written and performed by Front Porch Music co-founder, Andree Hurst. She says, “Join us for a free, family-friendly celebration of peace, music, and community under the oaks in Lafayette. These timeless peace songs are needed now more than ever.”
Hosted by Front Porch Music with partners Mount Diablo Peace & Justice Center and Lafayette Christian Church, and made possible by the Peaceful World Foundation. This event leads up to the International Day of Peace on September 21.
Ample parking is available in the church parking lot close to the grove and music gazebo (paths and wheelchair accessible). The venue is also accessible by walking or biking from the Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail and offers bathrooms on site. Bring your folding chair, a snack, and your peaceful, easy feeling.
