Surprise Visit from a Bay Area Music Blogger
The Front Porch Music community recently received an unforgettable surprise visit from a well-known Bay Area musician and blogger dedicated to covering the vibrant open mic scene. We were thrilled when he attended our Saturday night open mic incognito, fully immersing himself in the genuine atmosphere we’ve cultivated.
From his arrival on Porch Hill to the final encore, he experienced the heart of our community—the heartfelt performances, the supportive audience, the shared stories between sets, and the authentic sense of belonging. After an evening of incredible music and camaraderie, he revealed his identity and shared his profound appreciation for the event. He was especially moved by how seamlessly artists of all levels were welcomed, how the audience engaged with such warmth, and how effortlessly the night balanced music, community, and creativity.
“This is exactly what grassroots music is about,” he said. “Real people, real stories, real connection. Front Porch Music isn’t just hosting open mics; you’re nurturing a sanctuary for artistic expression.”
His visit was a powerful affirmation of our mission to foster community through music. We’re honored that our little corner of Lafayette could offer such a meaningful experience.

Thank you for being part of this beautiful community. We can’t wait to share many more musical evenings with you.
