Zocalo Coffeehouse is a community-focused, women-owned coffeehouse and roastery in downtown San Leandro β the name comes from the Mexican-Spanish word for “town square,” and it lives up to it. Alongside artisanal coffee (roasted on-site), breakfast, sandwiches, and tapas, Zocalo hosts live local musicians, open mics, trivia nights, and Friday/Saturday evening happy hours (6β9pm). With indoor and outdoor seating, a kids’ play area, and a genuine neighborhood-gathering-place feel, it’s been an East Bay institution for decades.
Front Porch CONNECTS is made possible by the California Arts Council, the Community Foundation of Lafayette, the Peaceful World Foundation, and by our wonderful community of Bay Area musicians and music fans.
