Bird & Beckett Books and Records

Bird & Beckett Books & Records is a beloved independent bookshop in San Francisco’s Glen Park neighborhood that doubles as one of the Bay Area’s most cherished intimate music rooms. Presenting live jazz weekly since 2002 — now 3–5 concerts every week, roughly 300 events a year — the shop transforms into a cozy listening room on Friday and Saturday evenings and most Sunday afternoons, with a reputation for great acoustics and attentive, hushed audiences. Music programming runs under the Bird & Beckett Cultural Legacy Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to paying musicians guaranteed fair wages. Typical cover is $20–25 (students half price, kids free), BYOB, cash preferred at the door. A block and a half from Glen Park BART.
