Ancestral Water fuses folk, world rhythms, blues, and groove into a sound that’s both earthy and ethereal. Formed around the songwriting of Jack Grady O’Neil, the band blends deep lyrical content with layered acoustic and electric textures. Jack’s roots in drumming, folk guitar, and storytelling have led to three albums, including their latest EP, Proceed to the Horizon (2024). Wayne Ditzel plays electric guitar and vocals, with early New Wave roots and a love for everything from Tom Petty to the Clash. After years of jamming with neighborhood musicians, Wayne brings both fingerstyle finesse and rock energy to the group. Barbara Miercke, on fiddle and vocals, brings a rich musical lineage and a passion that was rekindled while playing with her mother later in life. Her playing adds warmth and emotional depth to the band’s sound. On bass, Justin LaBo is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who has toured the world with bands like Film School, Current, and Ottawa playing everything from shoegaze and indie rock to hardcore. He brings a stripped-down simplicity to his playing that anchors the rhythmic folk-rock sound of Ancestral Water. Jonathan Korn, on mandolin. He also plays with Bay Area surf-rockers The Reverbivores and adds bright melodic textures that shimmer through Ancestral Water’s layered sound. Gerald Turetzky holds down the rhythm with his signature flair, having toured with reggae legends and studied music since childhood. Band website: http://www.ancestralwater.com
Lonesome Eddie and the Saddle Sores is one of the Bay Area’s top country bands, delivering a rich blend of classic country, country-rock, and reimagined hits with their signature twang and heartfelt harmonies. From Patsy Cline and Willie Nelson to original songs with wit and soul, the "Saddle Sores" deliver toe-tapping music that keeps audiences coming back for more. The band's CD's include First Gear (2019) and Rodeo Tears (2024) and are available on their website www.thesaddlesores.com. Formed in 2013 by Lonesome Eddie (Elliot Aronson) and Austin Hurst, the band grew out of three decades of collaboration in the classic rock band Soft Touch. Lonesome Eddie brings pedal steel and boogie-woogie piano to life, inspired by a lifetime steeped in swing, Appalachian roots, and bluegrass. Austin Hurst adds lead guitar, mandolin, vocals, and original songwriting, shaped by his deep roots in Berkeley’s folk and bluegrass scenes. The group features dynamic vocals from Andrée Hurst, who also plays rhythm guitar and fiddle and writes original songs, and Tenaya Conklin, who brings musical theater flair and rich vocals to the stage. Dave Buchanan adds vocals, rhythm guitar, and bass, with a background in classic rock. Gene Seltzer, a veteran of jazz, bluegrass, and country swing, rounds out the low end on bass. Gerald Turetzky anchors both bands with his versatile and energetic drumming and vocals.
