✍️ About
Roy has been playing guitar since his teenage years in Great Neck, New York, and remains obsessively drawn to the kind of songs most players (wisely) avoid — the intricate, time-intensive, and technically demanding. With inspiration from artists like Steve Howe, Neil Young, Jorma Kaukonen, Joni Mitchell, Duane Allman, David Bromberg, Rickie Lee Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Cat Stevens, and Steely Dan, his acoustic style blends folk, blues, and classic rock with a deep appreciation for detailed fingerstyle work and alternate tunings. His sets move fluidly between complex instrumental pieces and richly arranged acoustic works that, though often known as full-band… songs, stand powerfully on their own in a solo setting. For Roy, the greater the challenge, the more rewarding the journey — and the more satisfying it is to bring those ambitious arrangements to life on a single guitar.
