Lush, Soulful, Original Indie-Folk, Americana, (Mulit-genre: Blues, Funk, R&B, Soul, Bluegrass) Singer/Songwriter – Maggie Forti https://MaggieForti.com At 17 she was singing originals, and playing with her band “Full Moon Revue.” She studied voice lessons with opera singer Pearl Layton and enrolled in Berklee College of Music, where she toured with Berklee’s Gospel choir - alongside college mates Layla Hathaway, Susan Tedeschi, and Paula Cole. She received a degree in Professional Music, networked and thrived in the Cambridge arts scene where she played the celebrated American folk music “Club Passim,” earning a loyal following in Boston before leaving in ‘91 to… do a year long 30 state tour. She sang for White Water Rafting companies in Texas, Colorado, Utah and eventually CA. when she moved to Berkeley, becoming part of the thriving SF Americana music scene. Maggie performs her originals and carefully selected covers as a solo artist, and with her trio, "Three Rivers." She performs with many local musicians and bands. She has performed at three High Sierra Music Festivals, The Freight & Salvage, The Sweetwater, The Ivy Room, The Independent, The Great American and a plethora of other SF and E. Bay clubs. Some of the exceptional artists Maggie's shared the stage with include Peter Rowan, Jerry Jeff Walker, Julie Wolf, Vicki Randle, Libby Kirkpatrick, Stu Allen, Sunshine Garcia, Joey Blake, Lebo, David Gans, James Nash, The Rainbow Girls, New Monsoon, Hot Buttered Rum, and ALO members, to name a few. Maggie co-facilitates “Free your Voice” and “Embody the Groove” Workshops and is a respected music educator, and voice lesson teacher.
